Engraved Remington Model 700 BDL .270 Winchester with Vortex Scope Offered here is an especially attractive Remington Model 700 BDL bolt-action rifle chambered in the popular and versatile .270 Winchester. This rifle stands apart from an ordinary BDL with its extensive decorative scrollwork, handsome gloss-finished walnut stock and mounted Vortex Diamondback scope. The receiver and hinged floorplate feature ornate foliate scroll engraving that gives the rifle a distinctive custom appearance. The engraving surrounds the factory receiver markings and continues across the bottom metal, creating a coordinated presentation from either side of the rifle. The traditional BDL-style walnut stock features a raised Monte Carlo cheekpiece, decorative checkering, a contrasting black fore-end tip and grip cap, and white-line spacers. The figure and warm coloring of the wood complement the engraving particularly well. Sling swivel studs are installed, and the rifle retains its iron sights. Optics are provided by a Vortex Diamondback 3–9x variable-power scope, mounted in rings on a one-piece scope base. This classic magnification range is well suited to the practical hunting capabilities of the .270 Winchester cartridge. The ADL and BDL were among the original Model 700 variations, with the BDL serving as the more highly finished deluxe model. Traditional BDL rifles are recognized for their high-gloss walnut stocks, decorative checkering, contrasting spacers and convenient hinged floorplate. The .270 Winchester was among the chamberings offered during the Model 700’s introductory year, making this combination a long-established American hunting classic. Condition The rifle presents in attractive used condition. The stock and metal surfaces display the normal handling and use marks visible in the photographs. The glossy walnut retains pleasing color and figure, while the extensive scrollwork remains a prominent visual feature. The origin and artist responsible for the engraving are not documented and should not be assumed to be factory work. It is described here according to its visible appearance. Please examine all photographs closely for the most accurate representation of cosmetic condition. Inspection Notice: Prospective bidders should review all photographs and satisfy themselves regarding condition, originality, markings, engraving provenance, bore condition, optics and mechanical operation before bidding. Any inspection desired should be completed before the close of the auction. All descriptions are believed accurate but are not guaranteed.
