Remington Model 1900 KED Grade 12 Gauge Damascus Double-Barrel Shotgun – 1907 Offered is a Remington Model 1900 KED Grade side-by-side shotgun, appearing to be chambered in 12 gauge. Serial number 371633 places its manufacture in approximately 1907. The matching serial number on the forearm iron indicates that the forearm is original to the gun. The Model 1900 was introduced as a practical, moderately priced companion to Remington’s higher-grade Model 1894. The KED designation identifies a Model 1900 configuration with Damascus barrels and automatic ejectors. These American-made doubles were built during an important period in Remington sporting-arms history and remain interesting examples of early 20th-century shotgun production. Features Manufacturer: Remington Arms Co. Model: Model 1900 KED Grade Gauge: Appears to be 12 gauge Serial Number: 371633 Approximate Year of Manufacture: 1907 Barrels: Side-by-side Damascus-pattern barrels Action: Hammerless break action Triggers: Double triggers Safety: Tang-mounted safety Ejectors: Automatic ejector system Forearm: Snap-on/off forearm with matching serial number Stock: Checkered walnut stock with Remington buttplate Condition This shotgun displays the honest appearance of a sporting arm more than a century old. The barrels and action retain an aged brown and gray patina with finish loss, oxidation, handling marks and scattered surface wear. The Damascus pattern remains visible. One barrel has a distinct exterior blemish, which should be considered when bidding. The stock and forearm show scratches, dents, finish wear and worn checkering consistent with age and field use. The shotgun appears mechanically complete, and its action, safety, triggers and ejector system are represented as functioning. However, it has not been fired in many years and was not test-fired for this auction. Important Notice This firearm is being sold as is as a vintage firearm that has not been fired in many years. No representation is made regarding its present suitability for firing. Because this shotgun has Damascus barrels, it should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith experienced with vintage double-barrel shotguns before any attempt is made to load or fire it. Inspection should include the chambers, bores, barrel-wall thickness, ribs, action lockup and ejector system. A handsome and historically interesting Remington double with matching-number forearm, Damascus barrels and the desirable ejector-equipped KED configuration. Please review all photographs and bid according to your own inspection and assessment.
