1921 Morgan Silver Dollar NGC Certified MS63 Offered in this lot is a 1921 Morgan silver dollar certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company as Mint State 63. The coin is encapsulated in an NGC holder bearing certification number 8852690-033. COIN DETAILS Date: 1921 Mint: Philadelphia Mintmark: None Denomination: One Dollar Series: Morgan Dollar Grade: NGC MS63 Certification Number: 8852690-033 Composition: 90% Silver, 10% Copper Weight: 26.73 Grams Silver Content: Approximately 0.7734 Troy Ounce Designer: George T. Morgan Appearance and Condition This certified Mint State example displays bright silver surfaces with visible cartwheel-style luster and light gray and champagne coloration. Liberty's hair, cap and surrounding lettering remain sharply presented, while the reverse eagle, wreath and inscriptions retain strong definition. Scattered contact marks are present, primarily across the obverse fields and Liberty's portrait, consistent with the assigned MS63 grade. The reverse presents especially well, with attractive luster and comparatively clean fields. The coin remains sealed in its NGC holder. Historical Background Morgan dollar production originally ran from 1878 through 1904. The design was revived in 1921 following the Pittman Act, which required the replacement of millions of silver dollars that had previously been melted. The Philadelphia Mint produced 44,690,000 Morgan dollars in 1921, the largest single-mint production total of the entire series. The Morgan design was discontinued later that year as the United States introduced the new Peace dollar. A bright, certified Mint State example from the final year of the original Morgan dollar series. Its NGC MS63 certification, historic final-year date and substantial silver content make it a solid addition to a Morgan dollar, type-coin or American silver collection.
