2018 American Silver Eagle PCGS MS69 First Strike – One Troy Ounce of .999 Fine Silver Offered is a 2018 American Silver Eagle certified and encapsulated by Professional Coin Grading Service. The coin has been assigned the grade PCGS MS69 and carries the desirable First Strike designation with a patriotic “Made in U.S.A.” flag label. Containing one troy ounce of .999 fine silver, the American Silver Eagle combines recognized precious-metal content with one of the most familiar designs in United States coinage. The coin exhibits brilliant silver-white surfaces, strong mint luster and sharply defined design elements. Coin Details Country: United States Date: 2018 Series: American Silver Eagle Denomination: One Dollar Issue Type: Bullion strike Mintmark: None Composition: .999 Fine Silver Silver Content: One Troy Ounce Grade: PCGS MS69 Designation: First Strike Label: Made in U.S.A. Flag Label PCGS Certification Number: 34569206 PCGS Number: 4564.69 Obverse Designer: Adolph A. Weinman Reverse Designer: John M. Mercanti Appearance and Condition PCGS has graded this coin MS69, indicating a nearly flawless Mint State example with only minute imperfections permitted under magnification. The obverse displays a sharp rendition of Walking Liberty, while the reverse retains strong detail in the heraldic eagle, shield and surrounding inscriptions. The coin remains sealed in its PCGS protective holder. The holder, certification label and coin are included exactly as offered. Historical Background First issued in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. Its obverse revives Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design, originally introduced on the half dollar in 1916. The reverse used on the 2018 issue was designed by former United States Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti and features a heraldic eagle behind a shield. The PCGS First Strike designation indicates that the coin was received by PCGS or shipped from the United States Mint within the grading service’s qualifying early-release period. It is a certification designation and does not claim that the coin was literally among the first pieces struck from the dies. This certified example offers an attractive combination of investment-grade silver, classic American coinage design, near-perfect MS69 preservation and PCGS First Strike certification.
