2020 American Silver Eagle PCGS MS70 First Strike – Happy Holidays Label Offered is a 2020 American Silver Eagle certified by Professional Coin Grading Service as PCGS MS70 First Strike. The coin is presented in a PCGS holder with an attractive seasonal “Happy Holidays” label. Containing one troy ounce of .999 fine silver, the American Silver Eagle combines recognized precious-metal content with two of the most familiar designs in modern United States coinage. PCGS has assigned this example the highest numerical grade on the 70-point grading scale. Coin Details Country: United States Date: 2020 Series: American Silver Eagle Denomination: One Dollar Issue Type: Bullion strike Mintmark: None Composition: .999 Fine Silver Silver Content: One Troy Ounce Grade: PCGS MS70 Designation: First Strike Label: Happy Holidays PCGS Certification Number: 40872570 PCGS Number: 809285 Obverse Designer: Adolph A. Weinman Reverse Designer: John M. Mercanti Appearance and Certification The coin displays brilliant silver-white surfaces, strong mint luster and sharply defined design elements. PCGS has assigned the coin the grade of MS70, indicating that no post-production imperfections were detected under the grading service’s prescribed examination. The coin remains sealed in its PCGS protective holder. The seasonal label gives the piece additional visual appeal as a holiday gift or specialized Silver Eagle collection piece. The Happy Holidays label is a PCGS presentation label and does not represent a separate United States Mint variety. Historical Background Introduced in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. Its obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design, originally introduced on the half dollar in 1916. The reverse features John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle behind a shield. The 2020 issue has added significance within the series because it was the final full-year bullion issue to carry Mercanti’s original heraldic eagle reverse. Beginning during 2021, the United States Mint transitioned the Silver Eagle to a newly designed eagle reverse. The PCGS First Strike designation indicates that the coin was received by PCGS or shipped from the United States Mint within the grading service’s qualifying early-release period. It does not mean the coin was necessarily among the first individual pieces struck from the dies. This lot offers one troy ounce of fine silver, a perfect PCGS MS70 grade, First Strike certification and a colorful seasonal label suitable for either a Silver Eagle collection or holiday-themed display.
