2021 American Silver Eagle Type II ANACS MS70 First Strike • No. 0121 of 2021 Offered is a 2021 American Silver Eagle Type II containing one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The coin has been certified by ANACS as MS70 and carries the company’s “A First Strike Coin” designation. Coins produced during the first portion of the year retained the original heraldic-eagle reverse, now commonly called Type I. The Type II version introduced later in the year carries Emily Damstra’s new reverse depicting an eagle preparing to land while holding an oak branch. The obverse continues Adolph A. Weinman’s celebrated Walking Liberty design, originally created for the half dollar introduced in 1916. The redesigned 2021 obverse restored additional details from Weinman’s original artwork and added his artist’s monogram. This monogram should not be confused with a mintmark. ANACS assigned this example the highest numerical grade of MS70. Its label further identifies it as a First Strike coin and as No. 0121 of 2021 from a specially numbered two-coin-set issue. This auction lot contains the single Type II coin shown and does not include a companion Type I coin. Condition The coin remains sealed in its ANACS patriotic-style certification holder.
