Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I 12-Gauge Over/Under Shotgun – Flood Restoration / Gunsmith Rebuilt There is a unique appeal in a fine Italian sporting arm that has been through absolute hell and survived to tell the tale. Up for auction is a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I 12-gauge over/under shotgun with one of the most honest battle-worn aesthetics you will ever encounter. Subjected to an extended submersion inside a flooded basement, this luxury shotgun was brought back from the brink of total ruin through a painstaking internal restoration and functional rebuild. While the exterior finish bears heavy pitting, mottled bluing loss, and deep finish scarring along the barrels and receiver frame, it has been refinished as best as possible to arrest further corrosion. Mechanically, the shotgun was sent to a gunsmith, completely torn down, cleaned, and rebuilt internally to restore operational functionality. The result is a legendary, high-grade Italian over/under platform with unrepeatable character—perfect for a shooter looking for Beretta ergonomics and reliability in a true “beater” truck gun or foul-weather field piece. Features Manufacturer: Pietro Beretta (Gardone V.T., Italy) Model: 686 Silver Pigeon I Caliber/Gauge: 12 Gauge (3" / 76mm Chambers, 28" Barrels) Action: Over/Under Hammerless Shotgun with Scroll-Engraved Receiver Trigger: Single Selective Trigger with Gold Finish Chokes: Extended Screw-In Choke Tubes Stock: Checkered Walnut Stock and Forearm with Rubber Recoil Pad Restoration: Fully Rebuilt Internally by a Gunsmith; Exterior Metalwork Refinished After Submersion Condition Cosmetically, this firearm shows severe, extensive visual evidence of its previous water damage. The bluing on the barrels is heavily mottled, streaked, pitted, and worn down to a matte texture throughout. The coin-finished scroll receiver displays dark staining, pitting, and discoloration from corrosion. The walnut stock and forearm display water staining, scuffs, finish wear, and handling marks, but remain structurally solid. Internally, the action has been serviced, cleaned, and rebuilt by a qualified gunsmith to return the lockwork to working order. IMPORTANT PURCHASING NOTICE: This firearm was previously exposed to prolonged moisture and flood conditions. Although internally rebuilt by a gunsmith, it is being sold as a restored project/field gun. Buyers are encouraged to review all close-up photographs of the barrel surface and metalwork prior to bidding. Must ship to an FFL dealer or be picked up locally in compliance with all firearm regulations. Please review all photographs carefully. Sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warranties or representations regarding mechanical longevity or cosmetic perfection beyond listed features.
