Vintage Puma White Hunter 6377 Solingen German Hunting Knife w/ Leather Sheath Up for auction is a classic, highly collectible Vintage Puma White Hunter Model 6377 Fixed Blade Hunting Knife, handcrafted in Solingen, Germany. Originally designed in 1956 for the East African Professional Hunters' Association, the Puma White Hunter is universally regarded as one of the most famous and versatile sporting knife designs of the 20th century. Forged from famous German Pumaster Steel, the blade features its iconic dual-purpose geometry: a razor-sharp main edge, a heavy blunt spine area designed for bone-cracking, fine saw-teeth near the guard for rope/cord cutting, and a curved skinning tip. Outfitted with genuine stag horn handle scales secured by brass rivets, a finger guard, lanyard hole, and its original embossed Puma leather sheath, this is an essential addition to any vintage German cutlery collection. Features Manufacturer: Puma-Werk (Solingen, Germany) Model: 6377 "Puma White Hunter" Blade Steel: Genuine Pumaster Steel (Carbon Steel) Blade Etching: Clearly etched "6377 PUMA WHITE HUNTER / GENUINE PUMASTER STEEL GERMANY" Blade Design: Broad hunting blade with spine bone-chopper, saw-serrations near ricasso, and skinning belly Handle: Genuine stag horn scales secured with three brass rivets and lanyard hole with leather thong Guard: Integrated nickel silver finger guard Sheath Included: Original brown leather belt sheath with embossed Puma cat head logo and snap retention strap Condition This knife is in good vintage, field-used condition. The blade steel displays a dark age patina, sharpening marks along the edge bevel, and light carbon staining/spotting consistent with carbon steel age. The blade etching remains clearly legible. The stag scales are tight and free of cracks, with minor verdigris around the brass handle rivets. The original leather sheath shows honest handling patina, scuffs, and minor verdigris around the metal rivets and snap, but remains structurally complete and functional. IMPORTANT PURCHASING NOTICE: This is an authentic vintage German collectible knife. Please inspect all close-up photographs for exact details on blade etching, edge sharpening, steel patina, and leather sheath wear prior to placing a bid. Please review all photographs carefully.
